Fantastic Opportunities in April!

Well it sumer and Union Springs is getting ready to host its annual Chunnenuggee Fair (Saturday April 24th)--- and this year we will have the Red Door Theater plays going on Thursday thru Sunday.   This will be our annual production by our local writer Wade Hall of his book "Conecuh People".

This year is Alabama's celebration "Small Town Alabama"  so check us out -- our local tourism (unionspringsalabama.com) site or our Red Door Theater site.   Check out our chamber site (usacoc.com) and look for our hunting lodges (also found on this site)  -- stay at some neat places throughout our county!

New "Downtown Revitalization Maps here!"

Well we worked for weeks this summer with Auburn Design studio to come up with ideas on our historic downtown -- now we have huge posters showing those plans AND pictures of our potential.  We also just received word that our town will get a master plan workshop next year which will go into more detail about how we can grow little ole Union Springs a mite more.  Just a few weeks ago we had Hal Williams here from Dalonega Georgia sharing how they made tourism grow and work there.  We had already started many of their planning points --

Then a few weeks later (early October 09)  the mayor of Greenville, Alabama was here sharing their successes.  It sure sounds like we are on the right road  -------

I had some Ziti (?) tonight at the new Pizza/Italian restaurant (Union Pizza)  -- so cheeszeee and goodeee......

We got some great places opening NOW.

see ya soon Joyce?

Fantasic time in North Carolina learning "tech" stuff
I found out about a real estate BarCamp about 2 weeks ago and decided to attend in North Carolina (7 hrs from here).  It was really worth my time as I learned a lot more about blogs, twittering, branding and several other "new to me" technical stuff to advance my computer skills.  Check out the Charlotte site: http://rebarcamp.com/charlotte.   I understand there will be another general tech-camp this fall.  Sure hope I can attend?

Union Springs to get more beautification

So proud this next week - Union Springs will get matching trash containers (in color) to our beautiful bird dog benches.  We have needed this extra addition to our community for a long time.  Our local high school technical branch students made the trash containers and local girl scouts/ garden club members will paint them.  Hopefully they will go on the streets next week!! pictures to come.
