I moved to this area more than 9 1/2 years ago. We own not only an old Victorian home but also the old "Josephine" hotel building. We are continually working on renovations on both. A Realtor for more than 20 years, I recenlty completed serving as the President of the local Chamber of Commerce for more than 5 years. I continue to be a member of the local Planning Commission. My husband and I are both prior Air Force and I have practiced as an Registered Nurse over 17 years, but currently spend all my time inviting people to consider making their home in Union Springs.
Many of our new arrivals (homebuyers) are now digging in and starting businesses here. We have 2 new restaurants and our cultural arts business in the old 1880's hotel. . (SEE OUR NEWCOMERS PAGE) Starting in late September 2012 the old Josephine Hotel will begin seeking funding and plans for renovation. She will eventually house period rooms for weary travelers as well as provide a home for local art. We are also considering other plans to "grow tourism" and our art community. In December of 2011 the Josephine was visited by a second group of ghost hunters. Now, we plan to add ghost tours to our historical tours; we are so proud of all the opportunities for tourism here. Several wedding chapels and antique shops are checking us out now. Come on down and find your niche!
How exciting to be in a small town that is "coming back" and moving toward a tourist community. There's still room for more adventuresome souls? Check us out!
You can call me most of the time on my cell phone or just drop our office in the Old Josephine Hotel. Some folks even get a special invite to come by our house -- and see the renovations! Our home is pictured on the 1st page of this website.
